Artemis’ purpose in purchasing Crouchland is to bring forward plans for the long term development and operation of rurally-orientated and environmentally sustainable business enterprises which will improve the use of the site and provide sound employment opportunities.
Environment
Environment and ecology are at the core of the regeneration plans for the farm, and integral to our agriculture, leisure and tourism and education proposals. We intend the regeneration to be an exemplar of genuinely sustainable rural diversification, using local building materials including timber from the woodland, recycling grey water and generating much of our own energy requirements.
Education
Included in our proposals are a visitor centre and a forest school to encourage farm visits and a wider understanding of agriculture and the surrounding habitat and ecology. The proposals seek to utilise this opportunity for the provision of environmental educational courses.
